"Thanks so much for a wonderful time in northern Wisconsin. Hunting was great, and your food and hospitality were outstanding. We're looking forward to coming back." -Jim, Spartanburg, NC
Bring your hunting buddies or the whole family for a special hunting experience you won’t find on any other farm. Many hunting lodges offer bunkhouse lodging and sub par food. They want their guests to just shoot their game, pay the fees, and leave, but at Palmquist Farm, hunting is a longtime family tradition. That’s why we strive to offer a total hunting experience that is enjoyable across the board. The complete experience involves:
Great game:
Hunt the traditional white-tailed deer, white white-tailed deer, Sika deer, or elk, plus a multitude of game birds
Hundreds of beautiful acres to hunt:
The Farm offers more than 1500 private acres of hunting land and is surrounded by 10,000 public acres.
Delicious, home-cooked meals:
Helen Palmquist delivers the best of hearty farm food prepared to accommodate your hunting schedule and served in a friendly atmosphere. Sharing your hunting tales over dinner is a must.
Handcrafted, comfortable cabins:
All hunters need a place to relax after a full day in the woods. You won’t find bunkhouses at The Farm, just hot saunas and wood-burning fireplaces to rest your feet by.
Activities for non-hunting family members who may tag along:
Palmquist Farm has hiking, hay rides, lawn games, scavenger hunts, farm animals and much more plus local attractions for the whole family. Even if they don't hunt, they'll have an enjoyable time and a memorable vacation at The Farm.
The Farm itself offers more than 1500 total acres of forests and fields with ponds and private trails. If you’re after deer, The Farm’s hunting land gem is a 1300 acre private, fenced deer preserve that’s large enough to offer a challenging hunt. It features three different species of deer and elk that are raised naturally.
If hunting ruffed grouse, woodcock, and turkey, is your pleasure, then The Farm will be your hunting headquarters. Aside from The Farm’s 1500 acres of private land, it is also surrounded by 10,000 acres of county, state, and federal land open to public hunting. Your hunting dogs are always welcome.
Palmquist Farm strives to make your hunt successful and enjoyable. We will provide you with directions and maps to hunting areas both on and off The Farm, or a licensed guide service is available by request. Gun safety and hunter ethics are very important to us because we want you to experience the best hunt possible.
If you have a son or daughter that you would like to introduce to the sport of hunting, The Farm is an ideal location for a first hunt. Our Northern Buck hunting preserve has a large population of deer so all the sightings will keep a young hunter's interest and also provide a better opportunity for them to shoot a deer. We only allow a low number of responsible hunters on our property, and we try to arrange them strategically in the forest so there are no safety concerns. The great meals and cozy cabins we offer are well suited to youngsters, leaving you with no worries about where you are going to eat or rest your head. Your hunt also includes basic guide services, transportation into the hunting area, and removal of the animal from the woods, so all you need to think about is passing on that beloved hunting tradition to your child.
