Step outside your cabin, strap on your skis, and glide onto one of the 20 miles of ski trails on Palmquist Farm that will take you through some of Wisconsin's most remote and beautiful forests and back country. You'll glide through maple groves and cedar swamps, up hardwood ridges and into the Tiaga ski trail north of The Farm. Enjoy the silence of snow-covered woods and white fields. Try the 24-hour, lighted trail for a soft and peaceful after-dinner or before-bed ski. Our trails are groomed for skating and classical skiing by our state-of-the-art Pisten Bully groomer. You'll find our trails very quiet with low traffic, so you can ski at your own time and pace. Our trails range from beginner to intermediate level in difficulty which makes them the perfect place to learn cross country skiing for the first time, teach your child, or come back to the sport you used to love. Request lessons from our experienced staff.
We offer ski rental so don't let a lack of equipment stop you from enjoying the beautiful outdoors. We also rent Finnish pulks, small lightweight sleds that adults can harness around their waists to pull small children on the ski trails. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome.
Timm's Hill Ski Trail (15 minutes away by car), is a glacial terminal moraine and the highest point in Wisconsin. It has many miles of groomed ski trails, rated from beginner to advanced. Minocqua Winter Park (30 minutes away by car) is a premier ski touring center with 30 miles of trails.Rib Lake Ski and Snowshoe Trails (30 minutes away by car) is close to the Timm’s Hill trail and is partly on the Ice Age Trail. Its 15 miles of trails range from beginner to advanced in difficulty. For current trail report, check out our Blog. Don’t worry about hauling all your ornaments on vacation. We’ll provide the decorations. On Christmas Eve, you’ll enjoy a traditional Finnish Christmas dinner with authentic dishes such as meatballs, mashed potatoes, rutabaga casserole, and lutefisk. On Christmas day, open presents, go skiing, sledding, ice skating, or sit by the fire before enjoying another feast of turkey and other Christmas foods. About New Years:If you spend New Years Eve with us, you will dance into the New Year at our country-style party with live music. At midnight, sing “Auld Lang Syne” around an enormous bonfire. Feel free to bring your own fireworks, and we’ll shoot them off for you. |
