“We had an incredible time. The food was incredible. The Palmquist family made me feel at home. The facility was really awesome. Four days wasn’t long enough.” -Laura from Thunder Bay, Canada
At The Farm, a vacation with your horse isn’t filled with work; it’s filled with quality time spent with your best friends, whether that be people or horses. After a home-cooked breakfast, your horse will canter you through trails that go past green fields, trickling brooks, and wild forest. Ride out to visit the buffalo. Our rural gravel roads and local trails plus trails in the Chequamegon National Forest will keep you busy exploring Northern Wisconsin nature. After a fun day of riding, come home to “The Farm” where a Finnish dinner, comfortable, cottage-like cabins, and a steam in the traditional Finnish Sauna are waiting for you. Because we provide breakfast and dinner with your lodging, your job is to spend quality time with your horse in our Northwoods surroundings. Come and explore "The Farm" on horseback! Take a look at our Blog for special deals or see Rates.
Our western-style, newly remolded barns provide a safe boarding place for your horse. Horse accommodations include several outside corrals and five 10-by-10 foot indoor box stalls. Horse lodging includes bedding but not hay or feed unless specifically requested.
If you wish to camp while visiting The Farm, we are more than happy to accommodate you. We charge a camping fee

Palmquist Farm has always had a rich equestrian history. Horses were used to do much of the farm work before modern inventions, and when Art and Toinie Palmquist first starting taking in guests, they also led horse back riding excursions. Palmquist Farm continues this tradition by giving horse drawn sleigh rides in the winter and by inviting you to bring your own horse.
